These guys popped up in the media last week (one of those oddly enough stories) so I went along to take some pics. The gardeners were really cool – not a ak47 in sight and there was a TV crew from GMTV as well, or as their producer put it ‘daytime fluff’.
Colour balancing and shooting available light was a bit of a challenge, but they’ve sharpened up well, you can view the pictures in the gallery. – J
I wanted to get a half-decent shot of Mr. Kember so went back today to Harrow Baptist Church for the service he said he’d be attending. Thankfully the rest of the media were a bit better behaved than yesturday and we all got our shots.
He’s getting a lashing in the press, (Kember receives ire of newspapers, BBC Online.) If we’re overanalysing his statement for the scencerity of thanks we may as well beat him down for the lack of thanks to air hostess on the flight back or the check-in staff at Heathrow. Honestly.
Norman Kember lives just round the corner from me so I thought I’d drop by and take a snap or two as he came home. I only got one (very, very crap) frame off before he disappeared inside and behind a rushing press pack. We were expecting some sort of statement but the family are quite camera shy, fairdoo’s. I hung around a bit and took some shots of the rolling news crews and the slightly bemused looking plodders. Check them out on my flickr stream
I’ve started to scan and upload some stuff from my first year, you can find it in the gallery under ‘Archive’. They’re a mix of stuff, the first few are from the Docklands in London then there’s some of Bricklane and Spitalfields Market and the last one is from “The walk of witness” two years ago at Easter in Pinner. Went to Stratford over weekend and shot over 200 images, it may be some time before I’ve edited them down and put them online, but I’ll let you know when they are. – J
Stratford was a bit of a wash out, trying to take a picture whilst balancing an umbrella under your chin is no small task. I’m going to try again over the weekend when hopefully the weather will be slightly more forgiving. – J
